Being at Home Doesn’t Mean You’re Safe.

Having a System Doesn’t Mean You’ll Survive.

Renowned Taiwanese businessman Liao Wan-lung, known as the “Tungsten Steel King,”
passed away at his residence in Taipei’s Zhongshan District on the morning of October 18, at the age of 77.
Reports suggest he suffered a sudden heart attack and was found without vital signs by his wife.

We often think:

“I’m safe at home.”
“Someone’s nearby.”
“I have an SOS system, so I’ll be fine.”
But the truth is — many lives are lost quietly in the most familiar places.

Heart attacks, falls, fainting, allergic reactions, choking, hypoxia, or poisoning —
these incidents usually happen without noise, without struggle, and without time to call for help.
Even if you have an SOS button, fall detection, or an emergency app,
in that moment, you might not have the chance to press it.

Panic also clouds judgment.
Most people have never practiced what to do when they actually need to call for help.

Safety is not a slogan, nor the number of devices you own —
it’s about how well you understand your own vulnerability.

Technology can help you be found,
but real safety begins with accepting that it could happen to you.
Not “It won’t happen to me,”
but “No one can guarantee it won’t.”

That’s the most common mindset I’ve seen while promoting emergency-response awareness —
people never think it applies to them, until the moment it’s too late.

Whether you use an Apple Watch, a Google Pixel, or SafeGuard,
turn on your emergency system.
Because when something happens, you won’t have time to decide whether to use it.

Emergencies don’t choose a place, a person, or an age.
They only choose who isn’t prepared.

Safety is not about luck — it’s about a choice you make in advance.
You might never need it,
but if that day ever comes, it could be the few seconds that save your life.
